Warm cat in a green and teal sequined tunic from Karen Millen and under the tunic, a beaded orange bikini from OK Brazil.
The days are getting longer in the nordic region and at 10 deg C outdoors in the shade and slightly warmer under the sun, the season seems to promise some very good bikini and beach days up ahead. I got a ‘preview’ of the summer ahead today, the sun on my nose made me feel like a cat, warming and basking.
In the garden.
I’ve written about Karen Millen previously, where I think she makes fantastic Asian-inspired pieces. This tunic, exquisitely rich in its stitching and sequin details on very light silk is reminiscent of Indian bridal textiles. What inspires me in Indian fabrics are their vibrant colours and detailed prints and beadwork. As with most Karen Millen pieces, this tunic is dress-up or dress-down as you wish and would take you from beach to evening (wedding) dinner.
Underneath the tunic, I have on a vibrant orange Brazilian made bikini. Brazilian beachwear has a soft spot in my heart. While I agree that it helps to have a babelicous beach body (see video clip below), I also think that there is something in Brazilian made beachwear that makes the wearer. With fantastic cut, design and stitching details, one doesn’t need too much effort to look good in a Brazilian made beachwear. Mar Egeu has some pretty nice beachwear if you’re looking and they have a wonderful behind the scenes Mar Egeu 2008 photoshoot clip that makes you want to get out there in the sunny waters!
