Adding to the festive end of year feeling, the Autumn/Winter quality auctions are about to take place in Sweden. Viewing for W.A. Bolin in Stockholm began already today, with a show of some of the most beautiful pieces of jewellery to brighten the short lived days. Most surprising this season was that I fell in love with jewellery that were mostly French made!
The above is no. 1132 from their auction catalogue. A large golden purple ametrine (ca. 30 carats) and diamond pendant with diamonds weighing ca. 1.2 carats.
Diamond brooch
No. 330 in the catalogue. A French made rosecut diamond brooch set in white and yellow gold, in the form of a bow.
A pair of diamond and pearl earclips
No. 19. A pair of French made platinum earclips, set with Tahitian pearls and surrounded by marquise and baguette cut diamonds.
A gold bracelet
No. 73. A 14k gold bracelet, Golden Stream. Stamped Björn, Lapponia, 1973.
A diamond and rubies brooch
No. 120. A 14k gold and silver Russian made brooch in the from of a cottage, with old cut diamonds and rubies. It has “S:t Petersburg” stamped on it with an accommpanying serial number. This brooch has a history and belonged to the wife of one of the directors of the Nobel Enterprises in St. Petersburg and Moscow. Subsequently, the brooch had been in the family, till coming up for auction this Sunday (15th November).
Indispensable in the modern woman’s closet! A diamond cocktail ring, no. 218, with 6 marquise diamonds and 6 baguette diamonds surrounding a center brilliant cut diamond of 1.50 carats. Total carat weight of this ring is ca. 2.50 carats.
A Georg Jensen gold ring
And a last favourite piece from this auction of more than 700 items – a Georg Jensen gold ring. I’ve always loved clean and modern designs, so this Georg Jensen ring caught my eye at the viewings. It’s no. 1158, an 18k gold ring, Minas Spiridis, model no 1438.
